Jamie Gallant

Jamie has been a member of the Native Council for most of her life, becoming actively involved at the age of 16, Jamie remembers her first Annual General Assembly as being one of amazement.

After graduating from Kensington Intermediate Senior High School with Honors, Jamie traveled to New Brunswick to Attend Olton's Business College. Upon returning to the Island she obtained the position of Youth coordinator and was elected the National Youth representative for the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples (CAP) in January of 1999.

Jamie decided to broaden her experience and traveled to Ottawa where she took on a nine month position as a Labor Market Intern at CAP under the direct guidance of the late Ian Taylor. Jamie then took on a position at the Native Council of PEI as the Employment and Training Officer

On November 27th, 2004 Jamie was elected as the youngest President and Chief for the Native Council of Prince Edward Island.

Jamie resides in Kensington with her family.


Brandy Googoo

Brandy has been a member of the NCPEI since she was a young child. Both her parents are active members within the organization and she has essentially grown up in the Council. Recently, she held the position of the Youth Representative on the Youth Board of Directors for two and half years. In the summer of 2008, she accepted the position as the Youth Assistant and Researcher and has recently been delegated as the Vice President of the Council. Brandy has always been active in the youth group and cultural connections through her participation in event planning and chaperoning and always offers her time freely to the activities as needed.

Currently, she is completing her fourth year university and will graduate from UPEI with a Bachelor of Arts in May of 2010. Brandy plans to continue studying towards a Bachelor of Education degree. Her goal, with her education, is to offer the members and especially the youth the guidance and support they need in achieving their own goals in life.


Rikki Schock
Elders Council Representative

Rikki Schock has been a member of the Native Council for 18 years. Rikki was instrumental in developing our Employment Outreach Program. She has helped to educate, train and employ hundreds of Aboriginal People.

Rikki has been part of a number of stage productions. She has, for the past couple of years, been doing a production of the "Vagina Monologues" at the University of PE. This The group of actors donated all of the proceeds from the play to The Native Council 's Women's Shelter in Charlottetown. Many thanks from "Grandmothers' House".

Rikki was recently presented the " Award of Excellence" for community service by the Canadian Revenue Agency. Rikki Schock is a member of the Cree Nation.
